This group is the culmination of 5 years of wildlife and environment education.
Of the 400+ children we have taught over these years this group of children of all ages have decided to work to save the environment.
The project is to build a successful agricultural model which will have a positive impact on the environment, reduce wild animal farmer conflict and will also have a significant positive impact on the income of their families.
They have already started on greening their own homes and village by introducing the THS low cost design soak-pits in each house to recharge the ground water table and reduce stagnant water in their locality.
Their next step is the introduction of the THS low cost gobar gas unit to extract methane [The most potent global warming gas] which will be used for burning thereby saving firewood and reducing smoke pollution as well as making high quality organic fertilizer.
Growing aromatic grasses like vetiver which we have successfully developed with the help of WWF [India] and CIMAP [Lucknow] is now on the agenda since these grasses are not prone to grazing by herbivores and require no chemical fertilizers and can grow on monsoon flood prone lands.
Not only are you getting a value for money quality product but are contributing directly to the development of our poorer fellow citizens whose hard work in the fields of rural India feeds the urban high polluting lifestyle population.
